Q. (tyring to install a message board) I have placed aforum.isa and aforum26.dll files on the server. However, when I type the corresponding URL address in the browser, as specified in the instructions, my Internet browser is attempting to download the file aforum.isa instead of executing the forum script.

Here are some of the suggestions. Would any of this work.... How can I do this???? Thanks

A. 1. Make sure your web server is MS IIS or MS PWS running on Windows platform. Make sure it is NOT Apache, UNIX, LINUX, Free BSD, or other ancient system.

2. Make sure the directory (folder) where you placed aforum.isa and aforum26.dll has remote access rights set for Execute, and not for Read. See further comments about directory access rights below.

3. Make sure you did NOT register aforum.isa or aforum26.dll as an application of any kind with MS IIS. No such registration is required for this script to operate.

The files you try to execute are ISAPI files. ISAPI is not yet supported on Abyss Web Server. That's why they were not executed.
