help wit ftp

i got WS_FTP Pro, and i got it setup and when i try to connect i get a connection, then it says,
Waiting for server response.

it never gets a response...how do i fix this?

Try to either enable or disable "Passive Mode" from your client FTP. I believed the problem is here. BTW, since I do not use this WS_FTP before but just playing around with it only. I use very simple client side FTP is LeechFTP - http://stud.fh-heilbronn.de/~jdebis/leechftp/downloads.html:wink: 8O
You can try going to WS_FTP for further technical FAQ and such. I believe your problem is in the "Passive Mode" either enable or disable. Also try to simplify your setup. Try not to use any encyption and have it set to standard modem from your FTP server. After it work, then try to experiment more later on how it work. :D

This what work for me, from the following:
Server side - Serv-U FTP
http://www.serv-u.com/download.htm
It free to download for 30 days as full Pro version. After 30days, it will revert down to Personal edition which you can use it forever unitl you enter a valid registration key and it will become full Pro edition again. 8)

Client side - LeechFTP
http://stud.fh-heilbronn.de/~jdebis/leechftp/downloads.html
This is a very simple client FTP. Pretty much set your IP / URL to the server FTP and will connect. :lol:

Just make sure you set your Server or your account to the folder where your web page reside or have access to.
