I'm rebuilding my webserver, and I'm starting from scratch. Here's the scenario so far:

New machine, installed Windows Server 2003. No problems.

Installed Abyss, using only the part of the CONF file that included my X2 license information.

Set up one website. It's running, it has a documents directory, no errors given.

It doesn't work: accessing the site from either the serving machine or another machine on the LAN brings up a blank, zero-byte page. No errors on the browser, and Abyss reports no access, zero bytes sent.

It's as if something else is intercepting the HTTP requests, but Abyss didn't complain about port 80 being in use...

No firewall or virus software installed, and IIS is not running.

EDIT:
Dunno why but nuking the CONF file and starting completely anew fixed it.

Did you install PHP?

If you did, and a script causes fatal errors, you will get a blank page in return. This, of course, would be logged in your cgi.log file, if Abyss is told to keep a CGI log.

Are you saying that there is no access.log activity?

If you're still having trouble, you could post your abyss.conf file at http://code-bin.homedns.org/new (make sure to edit out your X2 license information)

Another possibility is that you didn't have a host configured properly to listen on that hostname or address. For example, if you point a domain at your IP address and Abyss has no hosts set to listen on it (either specific hostnames or wildcards) then it will display a blank page.
