Hi, im using windows mail on a vista systes. I have windows live onecare installed and clamwin which scans my hmailserver. The problem is when i open windows mail it check all of my accounts and works fine. Then if i click send/receive all it hangs and comes up with the following error. If i close the program then reopen it it checks my mail again.
I installed Windows Live MAil as this was said to be a solution for the problem but live mail works exactly the same except when i open the program it chacks the accounts and when i click send/receive all it checks them before comming up with the error.
Other forums seem to think this is to do with Mgafee anti virus but i dont have it installed.
I have contacted bt who said its an intrinsic problem with windows mail. Ive contacted compaque who tole me to contact BT, bt dont have a clue. Ive contacted microsoft who sent me to compaq, who sent me to BT again.
So i decided again to come to the real experts. Aprelium. LOL. its true though.
Heres the error. If you could halp id be very grateful. MAny thanks in advance.
An unknown error has occurred. Protocol: SMTP, Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800C0148
It always shows 2 of the above errors plus this one:
An unknown error has occurred. Protocol: POP3, Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800C0148
same error but for POP3. MAny thanks |

I fixit this by using Microsoft Outlook. A Lot of posts in various forums say its the mcaffee firewall etc, but i dont have one installed. Tried windows live mail but same problem. Tried Outlook and that works fine. Im told this is an intrinsic error with vista and windows mail??? Dont know, dont care now i fixed it. Cocme on microsoft pull your fingers out. LOL. Cheers for the help though all at the forum. Good luck etc. |
