|
|
i've just found out about abyss, but i'm having issues accessing my config address. when i load the exe it loads up but when the page http://127.0.0.1:9999/ loads i keep getting page cannot be displayed. i have a linksys wrt54g with DD-WRT firmware. i'm going into port range forward and forwarding 9999 to my internal ip address that my server pc is on but i'm still having issues with loading up the 9999.
i have looked through the forums and done a search and have not been able to find an answer that has worked yet. any help would be nice thanks |

Is Abyss running? Is it running on port 9999? Check in the Abyss status window. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

Dyno69,
Your browser may be configured to use a proxy which may be causing trouble accessing local sites.
If you are using Internet Explorer, open an Internet Explorer window, open "Tools" menu and select "Internet options". Select now "Connections" in the displayed dialog and press "LAN settings". Check the "Bypass proxy for local addresses" option. Press OK twice and try browsing the local URL.
If the above does not help, and to check whether the problem is coming from the browser configuration or not, install another browser (Opera or Firefox). The second browser will not interfere with Internet Explorer and could be removed later without damaging your system. Once installed, try using it to console. _________________ Support Team

Well i fixed the issue with the webserver working on my server computer but it still says i'm behind a proxy when i know i'm not. i think this is effecting the ability to view it on another machine. anyone know anything else?
EDIT: it seems to only happen on my server computer not on my main or my laptop or my girlfriends computer. |

Ok my Abyss server has that too in the small running window. It says [Local URL http://127.0.0.1:9999] Console local URL: http://127.0.0.1:9999.
It also says in the window, - Default host on port 80 is up and running.
Do you have a common port opened up on your router to let the default host through?
9999 is the parameter port!

Your web page loads in 1 second currently. You should get a domain and use it
instead of your IP Address. It's much easier if you do that.
Some free services are: No-IP.com and DynDNS.org |

Yes, I agree with TRUSTAbyss, You should tie in with a DNS server that way you won't have to give out your IP to allow your site to be seen!
Much safer that way! |
