Hi,
Can someone here that is using Abyss Webserver X1 Or X2 on Windows XP tell me if this script: Photo-Graffix. (Http://www.photo-graffix.com) works with this server? If so, how do I go about getting it working? It's really simple to install, not time at all to get installed and doesn't require an sql database. You just create a folder in your public_html or htdocs folder called whatever, and then extract the contents of the photo-graffix script into it, and then run it. I have had numerous problems with it, but am desperetly seeking to get it working. It appears to work alittle, but that's it, meaning I can log in, and see the program, but the features don't work right. Any help getting this to work will be extremely greatful, and I think you will also agree!
Thanks alot in advance!

Hi,
I tried it, and you know the update buttons, for example try changing a color background or whatever, and click update, does it keep flashing or does it say updated? To test it click on the goto image gallery.
It doesn't update for me, and the I can't create the galleries.
what version of php are you using?

What os are you running abyss on? I think that may be my problem, which I am hoping it's not but I am using Windows XP. I think Photo-Graffix needs a unix server. I am not too sure tho.
Thanks.

The demo on their site doesnt even work for me. But thats probably cause of disabled javascript, flash and java.
By the looks of it its just a slightly more advanced version of Coppermine photo gallery. Try that. _________________

Brian Jester,
According to the requirements, all you have to do is to add PHP support to Abyss Web Server and add the GD extension to PHP (this is already done for you if you're using http://www.aprelium.com/abyssws/php5win.html ). _________________ Support Team

Hi,
Yes, exactly, I know, I have all the requirements, but when I go to use certain features of the script (such as clicking the update buttons) for example to update the background colors it supposed to blink and say updated...But for me it just blinks and says updating...That happens on just about all the update buttons. And I can't create or delete albums. I have no idea why. I spoke to support and they said it could be a few different things including:
Php 5.0.4 not being fully supported by their program
Because it is on a Windows server
There may be certain server configurations that do not allow certain scripts, as far as I know, it may not even be installed correctly.
Thank you in advance fo your help with this bugger script

For your sake, use coppermine. I downloaded, tried it, it sucked.
By sucked I mean for a start it didnt work, and the admin panel had 2 options which made it suck more.
I couldnt create an album either, possibly because of windows or php5.x, but it isnt abyss, cause I used apache. (Ill get flamed for that, whatever.)
Coppermine works on windows cause I had one up a while back, and it worked great with php4, but with a few lines it can be made good for php5 too.

Hi,
You got that right, it does suck for that reason, but let me add that the support guy at Photo-Graffix said if I wanted it working, ex: able to add albums etc..I would just have to do this:
go to 'gallery' folder the one that you have it you extracted it without changing anything. Then create a folder of your choice in the gallery folder. Then to see that folder in the gallery, you then need to copy everything inside the data folder that's inside of the gallery folder and paste that into the new folder that you just created...From there, you can see the new album. If you click that you will get more options. But good luck, because from their everything else sucks...Maybe you can understand from there??
Thanks for suggesting Coppermine...Looks good!

Even with copying data to {gallery_name} it still wont submit the forms via flash, just hangs.
And the lesson is, dont trust client specific plugins. _________________

I am glad I am not the only one having problems...And I really didn't want to switch my operating system to unix/linux, I am so used to windows that if I were to switch to unix (which they say photo-graffix works on) I prob. wouldn't be able to get setup to begin with...Not to insult my intelligence, but it would definitley take some time. Unless photo-graffix decides to make it work for windows systems, they can find another customer.. :D
Thanks alot!

Hi,
So you have the same problem? Are you on a Windows XP Server with Php 5.0.4? I don't think if you were on a unix server you would have any problems. But I am not quite ready for that jump, and I don't know if I am going to go that direction...At least not for now, sticking to Windows for now...Maybe even try windows 2000 server...Any ideas on getting this app to function?
