Cannot execute the server using root privileges

just set up a linux sme server, I am new to linux, i want to use abyss web server, but when i try to execute i get this error, can somebody help me, thanks

You need to start Abyss with the -r command to give it Root privileges. You
can do this with this simple command ./abyssws -r , hope this info helped.

another question, when i have my session open, the server works fine, but shuts down after i log off the session. how can i set it up so it will automatically run when the server boots up

Running the server using -r is a huge security risk. Abyss can start as root (to use ports < 1024) and switch later to a less priviledged account for more security. This is the recommended way of doing things.

Please contact support@aprelium.com to get the detailed instructions to run it as root and to have it launched at system startup.

You need to understand that Aprelium are very busy people. Only X2 members get 'proper' priority support and an answer within one day. Us X1 users have to cope with what we get. Thats just life I suppose.

You will get a response on the forum nromally within a day too if its a well detailed question/problem.
