| Okay, let's say someone tried a brute force attack on not the console, but just a password protected area (like PHPADMIN). Can someone tell me how many attempts they get before being banned? Let's assume they don't have to cancel when they are attempting this. Thanks. |

I am not to sure if this applys to the same thing but the Antihack protection which I will be using to protect my consol login as I am opening up is custamizable. You choose how long they are blocked for how long it monitors attempts from a certain user and how many attempts they get this is found by opening the consol and going to server configuration.
HOWEVER, my recent enquire with Aprelium reveals that the Antihack does not work and they are doing their best to quickly release an update to fix this problem. I discovered this when I opened my consol up turned on all the features then asked a mate to try and get in not knowing the password and I set it to 3 attempts he the got an error page refreshed tried 3 more times, refreshed then logged in using the correct password.
Hope they patch this soon. ;) everything else is amazing

I setup Anti-Hacking for 3 bad requests and when hitting Ok for the User Access
3 times I get banned for the right amount of time , even when hitting cancel. :/
Note: Are you sure your using the right version , Abyss v2.0.0.20 ? |

I am sure I am using the correct version I have contacted technical support I have sent my conf file and they have replied saying it was a bug

Well it was a bit silly to experiment on your own pc My advice for the future is allow any IP to loginto consol and get a mate to try or try from another pc.
They do not recommend this but you can goto the conf file at C:\abyss webserver then the conf file open it in notepad or something similar or it might be c:\program files\abyss webser can't quite remember then find the list of banned ips and remove urs but be very careful in there. Alternativly if you can logon from another computer change the antihacking features on that machine OR as a last resort I am sure if you contact Aprelium support explaing your problem and send your conf file they will do it for you.

The anti-hacking does not work for the console only and in some situations.
It works perfectly for web sites.

Stop the server, open the persist.data file with a text editor and remove the line where you see your IP. Save the file and restart the server.
