Having trouble with mySQL 4.1 or 5 i always gets this message in phpmyadmin

"mysql_connect(): Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client"

it is always when i have set a password in phpmyadmin it happens..
can someone give me a hand plz..
