There are lamers everywhere, it seems... They are just waiting to try the new vulnerability they read about on the internet, or to use that new script some hacker friend passed them...
Anyway, I'm glad the damage done to this forum (which I visit regularly, waiting for the dreamed day when "Aprelium 2.0 is released" is posted) was minimal. But I always noticed the old version of phpbb running here (I think it was 2.0.5, now upgraded to the latest, 2.0.11, of course), and the guys at phpbb.com have shouted all over to upgrade to the latest version because of a critical flaw in previous versions...
Guess the moral here, and not only for aprelium, but also to all of this forum's visitors who run abyss and phpbb like me, is to ALWAYS have the latest version of the programs you use, because script kiddies and lamers are always hunting for an opportunity to use their dubious skills.
Because of that, I check phpbb.com and this forum almost once every two days or so, looking for updates. A small dose of paranoia can be healthy when dealing with net serving.
