Hello,
Ive been having a problem with the server slowing down. If I go in and delete some files from the htdocs folder it speeds back up. Is there a file limit size setting on the server or what might cause this?? _________________ Thank You

None that I know of.
Are you using the 2.0 beta or the standard Abyss ?
Are you using some kind of directory indexing script or do you mean your site in general is slow if you have a large number of files in htdocs ? |

Hi,
Running the regular Abyss. I had the same problem with a different software I was using. I have many websites and directories. htdocs folder is 1.4 gigs.
Sometimes the server will "lock up" what I mean is it slows way down to a crawl. Email, and any other programs are effected. If I stop or restart the server it usually goes away. Sometimes I have to delete some files in the htdocs. This seems to help.
Any kind of purging or something that can be done to keep the server "fresh" ? _________________ Thank You

Big files doesn't affect the speed of your connection unless they are being downloaded. When some one is getting them, your bandwidth will be consumed by the download and a little (or no) bandwidth remains for other programs. In version 2 (see 2.0 Beta section), we have added a bandwidth limitation feature, so you can for example configure the server to not use more than 10 Kb/second (or any value you want.) |
