|
|
Ok. Here's my setup:
~Abyss Web Server X1 (Version 1.2.3.0)
~PHP 4.3.9
~MySQL 4.1
~e107
~OS-XP
~no-ip.com DNS
The problem:
I have spent the last couple of days learning how to setup my own webserver, (obviously). I have installed everything correctly, configured all settings so that Abyss works with PHP, and made sure that everyone outside of my computer can access my site. I have installed e107 to htdocs and works fine when I goto install.php. Basically the only problem is, is that it cannot find MySQL database. Is there something I have to configure in MySQL, Abyss, or PHP so that this all can connect together?
Here is my site, so you can see for yourself:
http://www.equinox00.sytes.net
The specific error reads:
________________________________________
PHP Version 4.3.9 * Pass *
mySQL Version * Fail *
e107 was unable to determine the mySQL version number.
This could mean that mySQL is not installed or not currently running, or
you could be running a version that doesn't correctly report the version
number (v5.x is known to have this problem). If the next step of the installation
fails you will need to check your mySQL status.
File permissions * Pass *

Does anyone that has experienced this problem or anyone that has used e107 know what I need to do to fix this? thanks! :) |

Go ahead and continue with the installation.
Unless you have an old version of MySQL (which you don't), e107 will still install correctly,
If you still need any help, go to http://e107faq.org
They are very good at helping.
BTW - Welcome to the forums. :D |

Moxxnixx, I tried to go ahead with the installation, but it still won't work, try it for yourself as you please. I am about to go to e107 to see if they can help me. If you can in anyway help that would be much appreciated! :) Thanks for your help. |

Are you sure MySQL is currently running? Do you see the green light? |

There is no green light. This is the newest version and I don't think it has the stoplight in the tray, but I know what you are talking about. I'm pretty sure it is running, and I did put the option so that it runs everytime windows starts. I can't find anyway of checking its status. Hmm..IDK. |

Look in your Task Manager>Processes to see if it is running. |

I don't use any type of IMs.
Install Skype and call me.
The link is on my site in the right-side column. |

Ok. I searched the forum and found exactly what my problem is, the EXACT problem, only it doesn't explain how I fix it? look here: http://www.aprelium.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2911&highlight=e107+install
You even helped this guy so I know you know. lol. I'm assuming that I don't have phpMyAdmin installed? or my user and pass is incorrect? What do I do? Thanks for all of your help Moxxnixx! |
