well im wondering why you guys did not make the web server open source when this project first started? i mean it would of been a good idea but i could be wrong but hey id like to know :)

well well well....now i have said this before....they wanted tonnes of input...then l8r they sell for heaps of profit....very cheeky.....so the open source way was not an option for them as this was to complicated for them to implement....to many headaches....

for many people around the world money talks......a sad but true fact...and so my friends....abyss is no longer free ..as it once was.....such is life....

I think the comments in this thread are very unfair. Abyss *IS* free. Just because there is a pro version in the making that may cost some money, doesn't make Abyss "not free." Everyone who comes to these forums has a free version, eh?

There is also a difference between open source and "free." They are not the same things.

There is alot to admire about the architecture, integrity and power of the Abyss software. I think Aprelium will be hard to beat. They have supplied an incredible script with a care to detail seldom found.

opensource is : free to use commercially or otherwise ....just cant touch the code in a way that you might want.....in other words stealing it....for your own gains.....thats fine my me i just want to use freewares!.....im sick of paying for shit!

who wants to pay $3,500 for software ...when you can get to use the same thing for free..and does the same Job! Not me.....
