If you can't be bothered to read the topic directly above your post about setting up your router, you won't get very far. |

You probably have one of those unhackable computers that doesn't have an IP address. Time to put it back in the box and get an etch a sketch.
Or
Try explaining what hardware you have, what you have tried, what doesn't work... |

"What's the problem, what sort of car do you have?"
"A car."
Which Netgear Router?
What ISP ?
What ports have you tried ? Have you checked your ISP does not block those ports ? |

Login to your router, using user admin pass 1234 unless you have changed it. Go to the Status page, under the Maintenance heading in the web interface. This page shows your WAN IP and the LAN IP of the router.
ISP = internet service provider. ie. who is providing your internet access. Some ISPs block port 80 - knowing your ISP and checking online will help you find out if you can run a server on port 80/81/whatever and if your ISP generally blocks it.
Note that some routers do not handle loopback - ie accessing your website via your WAN IP when you are connecting from your own network. Your site may appear down when in fact it is working perfectly. You need to use a proxy server to verify this. Try www.proxify.com or google for an alternative. |
