Meta data....
Many people will cough up some cash to get their name in a search engine, I on the other hand have gone about it the easy and free way, luck though that the site gets listed in the first 30 or so pages on the net, its still a good deal for sweer FA...
Your ISP, check your ISP has allocated a small amount of web space, this is little often though of with people that all ISP's will give a free amount of webspace, you may have to ask them about it because they may not tell you but rely on you knowing what sort of deal your getting, if in doubt, ask.
This may only be a small amount of space, typically 5MB from a free ISP, 10Mb-50 Mb on a pay ISP, I get 55MB free with my ISP.
What you do is this, ONLY PUT META DAT IN TO ONE PAGE! This page is the indexpage that you will be uploading to that web space, you then can easily have a the page redirect your visitors to your server by referencing your DNS or static IP address in the index.html page you upload to the ISP web space.
Now, sit back and wait, your ISP will index that page and the meta data, it will then be searched and passed to all other search engines when a query with any or all of your meta data key words has been found.
Your meta data should be a list of words seperated by spaces, do not repeat any words because you get taged as possible spam site, keep keywords relavent to your web site, dont put fishing tackle when your offering mp3's for example, this will also go against you.
I picked out specific key words and my girlfriends web site gets listed within the top 30 returns, I never paid anyone any money to do that, it was done simply by applying the old grey matter upstairs and saving myself £20 a search engine. |
