|
|
I installed windows XP last night, and I re-installed Abyss, now, everything appears to be working great for me on my end (locally) however my friends cannot access my message board any longer at the same address I'm using to see it perfectly, The downside is my Internet Service Provider also put their entire service offline all night for maintnance and I was wondering if they could've been making it so running webservers and stuff like that was disallowed.
If anyone can help me I'd be very very thankful.
Here's the IP.

Thanks a million |

Your IP has most likely changed.
www.whatismyip.com to check it. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

no, even if my IP had changed it wouldn't let me view it at that IP locally, I don't view it through 'localhost' or http://127.0.0.1 |

I noticed like the other guy in the topic below me that was asking if people could view his website that my ISP may have blocked a port, how can I check and see if this is the case, and how can I change that, sorry I feel like such a newbie :( |

First, if you can't view your website locally, then your ISP isn't the problem. Try typing "localhost" in your browser instead to see if it works. Also, make sure all firewalls are disabled (such as the Windows XP Firewall) when you view your website.
Who is your ISP? _________________ Bienvenidos! |

localhost works fine, I'm not aware of this Windows XP firewall, but I don't use a personal firewall, InsightBB is my ISP |

Go into network connections, hit "Properties" on your connection, and hit "Advanced" to see if the Windows XP Firewall is turned on. _________________ Bienvenidos! |
