I tried to reset the settings in my D-LINK 614+ router and ended up blocking all internet traffic. I have been reading for hours trying to figure out what to do.. I have Sprint DSL service 3.0 Mbps down/384 kbps up. I have installed the Aprelium Web Server and it works fine on my computer.

Also.. I just want to set up a "server" for personal web pages and some stuff for my job (I am a teacher and want to set up supplementary materials for my students)... Do I need to have a separate computer to be the "server" or can I use my desktop as the server also? There are three computers on my home network, mine, my partners and my laptop.

I am drowning in information and don't know what's useful and what's not. Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

unplug power on your router, push the reset pin, hold in for 10 seconds, while still holding in plug in power

With D-Link, you can reset the configuration in the router's set up page.

Once it is back to normal, read this guide on how to get Abyss working.

And on the other question: you can use your normal desktop, you just have to keep it on any time you want people to be able to access the server.
