goose,

All depends on the future of BeOS. On a technical side, there is no problem to port Abyss to it, but we don't want to spend time working on a dead system.

And I've heard Aprelium saying that they don't want to port it to a dead system. (Not just in this thread).

The problem with BeOS is that since Palm bought its intellectual property, nothing is clear.
BeOS R5 continues to be available for download. The opensource BeOS "OpenBeOS" isn't ready yet, and there is now a company that sells a BeOS package "YellowTab".
We really regret this situation because BeOS is a very nice and innovative system.

Why on earth bother replying with that Inquisitor? Can't you just let the guy ask a question?

So what if he brings up an old topic? The question he asked is completely relevant to the thread itself.

Yes but this topic is dead, its author probably doesnt care any more. Most other users would say the same thing as myself when someone digs up an old topic.

I'm sure if Aprelium gets enough requests for a BeOS version of Abyss, they will consider making it.
ZETA and Haiku looks to be compatible with most BeOS software.

Sure. We'll add BeOS to our list of OS that may be supported in the future releases. If the port takes more than a few days of work, we'll certainly do it.
