Adding an FTP server to this server sofware

I'd recommend FileZilla. A lot of people here also recommend GuildFTPD.

Abyss is not FTP server. It is a Webserver.

I d/l'ed Guild FTP and have made my admin user and all that stuff. I can log onto the site using an FTP server no problem, but I cant upload any files!! What am i doing wrong? I'm getting a 550 error right after i login, but all my info is fine.

Check the permissions, and make sure that user is allowed to upload.

where exactly r the permission for the users? I am looking at the Options tab and seeing alist of options, about download speed, upload spped, max users, that sort of thing, but i think im missing the permissions area.
