Earlier today when I had rebooted my server, Abyss started up halted. And I can't seem to get it running.
I've checked if something is blocking port 80, but there isn't. There is just a few other things running on the machine, it's the Remote Administrator service, MySQL and the ftp-server, I tried to shut down the ftp-server and MySQL-service in case it was somehow messing things up, but that wasn't it either.
The only thing I changed previous to the reboot was the CGI timeout, and I tried resetting that to the original value in the conf-file, but that didn't help. I've rebooted the server 3 times and the same thing happens every time. I even tried to deactivate the autostart-feature, but that didn't help either.
Chances are it's some really obvious solution, but I can't figure it out. :?
I'm getting a little desperate here.
The machine running Abyss is a fully upgraded Windows NT 4 Server (with the latest IE installed and all that). _________________ "Technological progress is like an axe in the hands of a pathological criminal."

Ahh, sorry. I did a search and found the previous post. I guess I should have searched before I posted the message. _________________ "Technological progress is like an axe in the hands of a pathological criminal."

Hi
I'm getting this error too, I changed the time out from 10 to 24hrs (in seconds)... and it promptly shut down the server and wont re-boot.
Done a few searches but cant see for looking.
As there is never such a thing as 'Saw the post above" in a forum after a few hours, can you point me in the right direction please!
Many thanks

yup got it!
Figured it out myself, that will teach me not to play around with something I havent touched for months!
For other people having this problem, just right click the file called
abyss.conf
and open it in notepad, find the line TimeOut and change it back to 10
cheers! |
