when i go to 127.0.0.1:1024 my webpage works, but not with localhost:1024, nor 24.52.192.72:1024. (that's my ip, and 1024 is my port) i have no router or firewall and have no idea why it isn't working. Maybe it works outside of my ip? http://24.52.192.72:1024 i don't know....any help?
seems like my ip changed...but still doesn't work....i have no-ip duc running so http://gymboy689.no-ip.com will direct you to whatever my ip is...even though it doesn't work |

No reply to anything. Sometimes modems have built in firewalls (though not often). I'd reccomend contacting the modem manufacturer or checking their website. _________________

well, you could try just typing http:// in front of your ip. in your case,
http://24.52.192.72
once that works, jsut get a url redirector, like:
http://www.cjb.net
or something.... |

Personally, I think url redirectors like cjb.net suck when you're going to use them on your server to hide/get rid of an ip-adress. Those kind of services mess up cookies and almost always have popups or banners.
It's far better to use some sort of free dynamic dns-service like http://www.dyndns.org which are free and reliable. _________________ "Technological progress is like an axe in the hands of a pathological criminal."

If you have a router, your DMZ settings may not be set.
Basicaly when someone enters your ip it's going to the router which has no idea what to do with the information being requested so it cancels it. So log into your router using a local ip (linksys is 192.168.1.1) something along those lines if you're using another type of router. look in your manual for your router local ip and log in information.
Next > go to your command prompt and type "ipconfig" (2000/xp) or in the run command "winipconfig" (98)... this should tell you a local ip address like 192.168.1.100 . Whatever that is is what you set your DMZ setting to.
Hope this helps _________________ www.flashytech.com

I found out a way to hack cjb.net and get free DNS
(A) Poitings , just do this , it may take some time at
first for it to work but it works , just look at these
http://vhosting.cjb.net
http://os17fan.cjb.net
They both don't show my IP Address do they lol :D
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To get real A poitings using cjb.net
use the following settings.
What is your real web site address? "http://Your-IP"
What is your e-mail address? "Your E-mail"
Forward Mail? "No"
POP3/Web Mail? "No"
Cloak URL? "No"
Forward Subdomains? "Yes"
Guestbook? "No"
Forum? "No"
IP Address: "Your IP"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Save your settings and cjb.net will tell you that Cloaking can not be disabled
without taking away the Advertisements , you may have to update twice for it
to work but some how I found out their secret , please don't tell them :(
Now thats what you would call real DNS lol 8) |
