How can i stop ZA blocking incoming connections to port 80? I've added abyss to the allowed programs of course.

I went to the program options and noticed an "Expert Rules" section with some different options you can change, can anyone help me configure this so people can view my page while ZA is running?

Thanks.

Is your trusted zone slider set to medium?
Also, did you give the web server access and server rights in the trusted zone?

P.S. - This works in the "PRO" version. I don't know if you can do this with
the free version.

You will need to set a custome rule in ZoneAlarm; I think only ZA Pro allows this, so: Firewall tab -> Custom buttons in both Trusted Zone & Internet Zone -> Look for "Allow Outgoing TCP Ports:" & "Allow Incoming TCP Ports:" Check both of them, and add '80' to these rules. You should be good to go.

right zonealam

Firstly are you running XP?

If so turn the XP firewall off.

In Zonealarm all you need to do is allow the program access, then in the program control you select abyss in the list and right click it then options and a box pops up, click expert rules, in it add a record that reflects the server.

Your wanting to allow people to connect, so you need to leave the source as any.
You need to say where the connection is going to, 'My Computer'
You need to add a protocol, TCP would be a good one, and in the box that says destination, select http from the list and port 80 should immediately appear. you can leave the remaining info. click apply & ok and you should be done.

BUT! I will say this, a firewall blocking stuff is doing its job, it is following a basic set of rules to protect your computer and if you make a wrong setting you can leave your PC vunerable, so be careful.

I always run in stealth mode, I never have encountered a problem with allowing connects or p2p, you should never lower the security of your firewall, always research a soloution to a setting rather than exposing and putting your system at risk.

Hope that sorts your issue, theyre setting I use, so I know they work.

Thanks for the replies, i did all of the suggestions so it should work fine now although i haven't checked if someone else can connect yet but there shouldn't be any problems if i've done everything properly!

My Trusted Zone slider is at Medium, and the Internet Zone is at High.
