I was wondering if it could be possible to change the lowest part of an Automated Directory Index generated by abyss web server? (the part under the second horizontale rule <hr>)
This to decrease security risks as low as possible.

example:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Index of /147a/photos/
Name Size Date-Time Type
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
../ -- 01/09/2003 19:13:08 Directory
HUIS/ -- 20/08/2003 17:07:48 Directory
LOGOS/ -- 20/08/2003 17:08:56 Directory
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No this isn't possible since this text is hardcoded in the server. By the way, what is the security risk you fear? The server identity is always known (in every request) so hiding this line won't help.
Not unless you make your own custom error pages and index your files using .html pages 8)
We know about that. But in our software lifetime, such a situation occured a few times with minor bugs (not security bugs).
OK
seems fair! :)
I do understand that abyss wants there link on teh bottom, and it seems like a good deal to me: free webserver program in exchange for a link.
But it does looks a lot cooler if your server adress is added (just like in apache) or if you can add your own site logo or whatever.
And couldn't you link the site indexing to a style-sheet, so that it matches your site look?
just a couple of ideas.
