Damn Small Linux is 50mb and can be run on a Live disk or installed. That should work fine for Abyss. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

samc0927,
Abyss Web Server requires a Linux 2.x kernel and GLibc 2 or higher only. So any distribution (even the tiniest) will suffice.
We've been able to run it on a simple Floppy version of Linux (which contained the kernel, glibc, a shell, and some command line tools such as ls, cat, etc...). _________________ Support Team

ubuntu can run from a live disk (no installation) or it can be installed (it takes a MINIMUM of 2 Gb) it works great for abyss and is easy to learn :D

I would also recommend Ubuntu. I use it on my laptop.
It's very easy to use and, IMO, they have the friendliest community forum
of all linux distros. |

my 2 cents,
ubuntu is not small @ a minimum of 2GB , far from it...
bloated & slow distro imo! :)
as is the trend now with so many distro's.
Vector Linux is a fully working distro, with all you need for a desktop or server based machine at around 400-600mb, its ment for old machines, but will work fine on new ones of course.
Damn Small Linux is nice, but alot is missing, 50mb tho.
MepisLite is the best choice of linux for most machines imo.
support or not, its fast....very fast.
Debian, server install, is great also, but requires a bit more linux know how.

I've been trying out DSL and it seems pretty good. It is missing alot of features, but they are not that hard to make up for. I run it in a virtural computer, so its just a little window in XP. Running like that is kinda slow, so if you are gonna do that you need patience lol. _________________
