I am migrating from another web server to Abyss. At present, visitors to my site just have to type http://1.2.3.4/Sitename and the home page home.htm comes up by default.

In testing Abyss, I have http://1.2.3.4/Sitename/home.htm. Is there anyway that I can omit the page name (home.htm) and still have the page some up?

The site is held in a directory under the htdocs directory.

Thanks

Yes, in fact there is a way to do the trick! You have to put the page in the folder under the name index.html (.php, .asp or whatever...). Then, as the server reads the contents it sees the file and displays that instead of a default index file.
Of course, this will not work if you have not set the srver up correctly! Fire up the Control Panel and go to Server Parameters. Disable the "Automatic Directory Indexing" option and enter "index.htm" (or whatever you want!) at the "Index Files" list. This will determine what file name will the server use as the dir. index.
I hope i made myself as clear as possible!!!

Open the console, then go to Server Configuration > Advanced > Server Parameters and press Add... in the table index files to add home.htm as an index file name.
Now you can access your directoriy by its name and home.htm is displayed if present inside it.
