I just recently downloaded abyss (latest) and ran it. My network IP would work fine, then I went to whatismyip.com, and got my internet IP (69.209.137.73) but if I try to navigate to that page, I just get a thing that says for me to enter a username/password. The strange part is it does this even if I have no web server running or installed. I even used abyss' online "'real' ip page, and it says that was the ip, and it detected no proxy or anything. I am using a linxys(I can't spell at all) router. Can anyone help me? |

You are seeing the router remote access. You need to change the remote access port in the router settings. Visit www.portforward.com after you have done this for help on forwarding the ports so people can see your site. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

do you have a router? thats whats asking for the username and password. Check your port forwarding on your router. Make sure port 80 is forwarded to the server. |

Setting up port forwarding is the same for both abyss and apache.
just replace every occurrence of "apache" with "abyss" and youve got the tutorial for setting up port forwarding for abyss _________________ Anthony R

That is correct since both abyss and apache are HTTP servers. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)
