I am having a problem with File Limit (although I still totally love it!). For some reason, the script is not allowing users to completely download files... they just stop at about 10%. This ONLY hapens when I use the file path including "file_limit/?get=/" All of the files are in the encrypted folder, and it starts the download fine... it just won't finish it. When I use a link directly to the files in the encrypted folder, the files download normally, but the number of downloads is not limited. I only want to limit the actual NUMBER of downloads, not the size of the files (these are rather large files). Do you know what could be causing this problem, and how I can fix it? Please help; I run a very large website and I've been getting a LOT of complaints about this. Thank you so much for your time! |

You are best adding TRUSTAbyss on MSN and talking to him about it as he designed and wrote the script.
His MSN is msn@trustabyss.com _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

Right, I tried that (he's not online) and I also emailed him, but I haven't gotten a response yet. I was hoping that I could either catch his attention on this forum, or maybe find someone else to help me who has experience with File Limit or who has had the same problem.
I'm just trying to explore as many options as possible at this point so that hopefully I can get this fixed ASAP! :) |

I understand what you mean.
He hasn't been online a lot recently, he must be quite busy. Id wait for a response in the next few days. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

Thanks for at least replying AbyssUnderground... it's nice to know that someone actually saw my thread :D
That said, I THINK that I might be having a time out problem, but I'm not really sure because like I said, I'm no PHP expert or anything. So I guess I might as well ask (since reall, what else am I gonna do right now?), does anyone know of a work-around for this, or anything I can add to the script so it tells the server every x seconds that the script is still working?
I'm not sure that's possible. But I am using powweb hosting and since they've recently switched to a new platform, they've apparently also become a bunch of BUMBLING IDIOTS. They keep suggesting what *I* just suggested (which is why I suggested it), but I'm not convinced that it's even possible. I really like File Limit a lot, and is absolutely PERFECT for me, so I've just got to get it running now :) |

I'm sorry but I've done everything I could to reproduce this problem, but it does
not occur on my server. Even if the timeout is set to 30 secs for a script to last. I
haven't seen a download drop yet. They all successfully download.

What version of PHP are you using?
PHP 5.0.4 has a bug in it that keeps FileLimit from working. |
