Hi,
I am using x1 which is free and its fine.
Before buying i want to clarify some doubts.
1. Can i start a hosting business with x2 or 2.3 [just like professional hostings]
2. Can my clients create as many sub-domains as they want [same as cpanel, i dont want to tell them to contact your registrar and bug them. i know abyss doesnot have control panel but even if i can create for them at server side then its good for me].
3. Can i have something like mod rewrite option using abyss [my clients may require].
My system configuration
AMD athlon 2000+
1 GB Ram
500 GB HDD
1 DVD writer, 2 CD writers
4. Can i pay thru paypal.
5. will update when i get anydoubts:) [with 48hrs]

1. Yes you can but it will be hard work with it not having a compatable control panel yet.
2. You will have to create the subdomains for them on the server side.
3. Search the forum. Already explained.
System configuration is very good. You'll have no problems.
4. Contact Aprelium. I think the only way at the moment is through SWREG.

Some steps will be manual (mainly creating a host for each customer).

Subdomains need to be added on the DNS server (name server) where their domain name is declared. So unless you install a DNS server on your side and ask them to make yours the name server of their domains (they still need to do this with their registrar), they will always have to use their registrar domain management system to add the domain names.

We are working on adding this feature in the next version.

You configuration is fine. Ensure that you have an UPS (in case there is a risk of power failure) and a backup system if you want to minimize the risk of downtimes and your customers' data loss.

Yes. SWREG (our payment gateway) accepts Paypal among severa other payment methods.
