Ok. my forums are up and running

but the server is still http://127.0.0.1/forum

is there anyway i can change that address up there ^^^

so instead of reaching the website that way it's say http://whateverwhateverblah.com/forum?

thank you!! i just want the name of the server changed

ALSO one more thing!!

how come, as soon as i exit out of the server, you can no longer reach my forums?? like if i exit abyss, i can't reach the forums either?

i can't have forums, if the forums "turn off" everytime i turn off my computer with abyss off. otherwise how are people supposed to see the forum? i'd like to know if there's a way to change this. cuz otherwise this server doesn't seem very productive to me..

Answer to Question #1.
Here's two free Sub-Domain providers. The last link gives you a cheap offer
for your own "www.your-site.com" type of domain, which cannot be free. You
should be happy with your own sub-domain for now.

Free Sub-Domains: [Example: you.provider.com]

http://www.dyndns.org (DynDNS.org)
http://www.no-ip.com (No-IP)

Paid Providers (Not Free!): www.GoDaddy.com

Answer to Question #2.
You cannot install a software and expect it to run when the computer is turned
off. Any server software you install needs to be running at all times in order to
keep your websites online. Hope this makes sense to you.

Tip: Use a new/old PC for your dedicated server box.

Sincerely, TRUSTpunk
