MySQL & PHPMyAdmin

Hi guys, i followed all the tutorials (more than one time) to install and configure MySQL and the PHPMyAdmin into my machine. I tested the PHP (phpinfo.php) and it is working fine. I checked out that the MySQL is running as a windows process (but there is no icon with that green light on). I keep getting this error when i try to access the phpadmin (http://localhost/phpadmin/):

"cannot load MySQL extension, please check PHP Configuration".

I tryed to fix it more than one time, but got no good news! I would apreciate any hints! :D
