				|
 |
				| Hi,
I have attempted to install Activehtml on my home server, I have followed the instructions that are published on this site, to the letter, I have followed every single step. However, when I try to access localhost/ahtml the server returns a 500 Internal server error.

Im sorry if this question has been asked before, I did search but i found nothing. Any help would be hugely appreciated.

				| dellmann,
Try running ahtml.exe from a Windows command line box by typing (you may need to change the path):

  	  | Code: | | c:\program files\ahtml\ahtml.exe

 |

What is the output/error messages you get?

				| Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I tried what you suggested:

I entered C:\Program Files\seliSoft\ActiveHTML\AHTML.exe (this is the correct path), into the windows "run" dialog on the windows 2000 start menu. A DOS window opens, but then closes before I can read its contents. Any ideas?

				| Type command instead of c:\program files\ahtml\ahtml.exe and then type c:\program files\ahtml\ahtml.exe. It should stay open then. _________________

				| You should first open the Command Line Window (either by selecting it in Start > Programs) or by entering in Start > Run: cmd (or command), next type c:\program files\ahtml\ahtml.exe . _________________

				| Hi,
I tried what you suggested, a DOS box comes up after typing in the command to run ahtml.exe, however it closes after about a millisecond.

It seems that there is a little misunderstanding here.

When you run cmd/command, a black window is displayed. When you type in this window the path of ahtml.exe, does this window close??? Or do you get again the prompt (C:\....>) after running ahtml.exe?

				| dellmann,
 Very strange!

Can you please execute in the command line window:

  	  | Code: | | "C:\Program Files\seliSoft\ActiveHTML\AHTML.exe" "C:\Program Files\seliSoft\ActiveHTML\AHTML\default.asp"

 |

What is the exact output you get?

				| Hi, seems I am having the same error, I get the 404 not found, too when I do what u said in the post above. Here is a screenshot. I installed the newest ActiveHTML version, on top of the 1.00.00.3, which was not working at all, just opened and lagged the PC, not showing the page in the end.
 Im running Windows XP SP2.

				| Thankyou for response.
I have tried it, but it seems i Get error 500 still.
I use Dreamwear 8, and even tho i put the word test, no database connection or anything, it still gives me 500 error.

Error 500 > Internal server error.

Might this be because of 2.3 beta?

Here you can see configurations are right

 And the ones for abyss,

				| BxDANXB,
The example was referring to /asptest but this was an example. You'll have to adapt it to your actual paths (and not add it as it is if you do not have an /asptest directory).

The fact that you are using 2.3 Beta is not related to the problem you're facing. In 2.3 we have not changed the portions of our code which deal with CGI processes (including ActiveHTML).

Can you access ASP files inside http://127.0.0.1/ahtml ? Do they work?

				| No, I can't access that either. I will try and reinstall it maybe, an older version of it, it might have some problems. Im not too sure, because like the example with running an ASP file, with ActiveHTML.exe , it still says Error 404 Not found. | |

				| BxDANXB,
We suggest reinstalling ActiveHTML. If the problem persists, please contact SeliSoft (ActiveHTML publisher) as the problem you're describing here does not seem to be related to Abyss Web Server (since running ActiveHTML from the command line gives also an error).
