Hi everyone,
I would like to set up personal hosting and i have 1X free one. I also connect to internet from cable and i have a router which mean sharing with my brother. I can not view the site. I used my ip adress and i get linksy login panel and i dont konw the password. I read some solutions and couldne't understand it because it was not clear enough fir me.
If you are using the FREE X1, and have a router. Make sure that you have forwarded the appropriate ports to your server,
I didnt undertand what does it mean to forwarded the approriate ports to your server. Will you help me? Please make it as step by step so i can understan it. Thank you very much. |

Log into your router (the default username/passwords are admin/admin)
Find port forwarding or application settings (it with be one or the other)
Set it to open a port range or single port for whichever port you run your site on (eg, 80 or 1024)
Find out your LAN IP by going to start, run, type "command" (no quotes) then press enter, then enter "ipconfig" (no quotes) into the command prompt window. Press enter and take the IP Address. It should look like "192.168.x.x" where x is any number.
It should look similar to this:
Enter this number into the port forwarding/application settings in the forwarding you have made.
Apply settings and/or reboot your router.
To find out your current IP, go to www.abyssunderground.co.uk/ip . It will detect if you are behind a proxy as well and also give the proxy and your real address. The real address is the one you use to access your website.
Hope this helps. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

Some Linksys routers are different.
Try putting admin in just the password field. Leave username blank. |
