Change your BIOS to what? On what? Are you talking about your PC, or do you mean you tried to upgrade your router firmware?

His UPS stopped working so he rang Belkin to see if they could fix it. They told him to change some BIOS settings, now his PC wont work. They cut him off the phone because it was "closing time" and now he has a useless PC. He tried resetting the BIOS and it didnt work.

Define won't work and resetting the BIOS?

I've never been a Belkin fan - they provide the same stuff everyone else does, but get it sold in the stores like Dixons, PC World etc for a good £5-10 more than you need to pay for things. The only thing I haven't had a problem with is their UPSs lol

Well I have a belkin UPS, the 650VA one that has 6 3-pin uk sockets on it and Ive had no problems so far.

I define "wont work" as in it wont hold up the pc when the power goes out. It just resets and we cant figure out why. I suggested it could be a cheap power supply with virtually no hold-up time but thats not the case as I was told by abyssisthebest it can hold-up for 30ms at full load, twice as much that is needed for the ups to switch over, which is usually under 10ms.

He reset the BIOS as in removing the battery and changing the jumper to the reset position on the motherboard, then back again and putting the battery back in.

what belkin told me to do was change the power managment settings. That didnt work so they told me to contact my Manufacturer's (ME!!!) lol

I managed to find out the problem, changing that setting in the bios apparentley resets the c: drive :|

Ive got it sorted and shroodoo.co.uk should be online in around 5-6 hours, i am working late tonight.
