|
|
I've used Abyss for about 6 months without issues. I registered a new domain, tried to set it up, and cannot get the bloody thing to access my site via my WAN IP. I can only get it using http://localhost and/or http://192.168.x.x
I can't understand why all of a sudden it would do this. I've always used port 80 and it has worked problem free. What currently happens now, is it i enter in my WAN IP into my browser, it will do nothing but reset my modem - ??? I'm truly confused as to why this is the case. I've tried using other ports, such as 5080, etc, but the same problem exists. I know that my domain and dns servers are pointed to the right WAN IP address - it was the exact same setup as my previous domain.
Anyone experience this in the past/know how to help fix this issue?
Cheers in advance. |

cjcrucke,
Please read http://www.aprelium.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3806 and search this forum for loopback (your router does not support loopback that's why you cannot use your WAN IP from inside the LAN). _________________ Support Team

perfect, you're right, loopback is the issue, I just managed to get into my site from work. now, what i've been finding in the forum about loopback, is that some software exists for some modems to enable it? I have a motorola modem, is there any chance anyone has any software to help me out? I can get the specific modem model when i return home. otherwise, thanks for making me aware of the loopback issue - wasn't aware that was a problem. |

cjcrucke,
The loopback is related to the way the modem works. If it does not support it, no external software can help.
If you want to use your domain name (ointing to your WAN IP) from inside your LAN, you can use the workaround explained in http://www.aprelium.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=40107#40107 . _________________ Support Team
