Hello. I have become the unoffical IT department at my place and now that I realize how many people come to me with the same questions I am looking for a solution. I want to make a web site that allows people to quickly look for an answer to there question and if it isn't already covered, submit there question where I can then post an answer on the site. I however, don't want to keep editing a HTML file and updating it every time a new question is asked. I was thinking about using a message bored (like Punbb) and having one forum where people can post questions, then I type an answer move the whole thread to an "Answered questions" forum. This seams like inefficient though. Is there a better way to go about this while still keeping it simple? |

You could use a forum to do this. But, you might want to consider installing a full
CMS (content management system) on your site. Installation is just as easy as
installing a forum.
You can get more info and demos of the most popular free CMS' at opensourcecms.com.
Personally, I prefer e107. It has a built-in forum and there is an optional FAQ plugin that
works very well. e107 is very easy to customize and has lots of themes/plugins to use. |
