I'm quite sure these questions have been answered before, but I'm a bit lazy and will ask instead, in hope of answer.
Either way, I'm quite happy with Abyss Web Server X1, it does *almost* everything any other web server would do. However, since I will be receiving a better connection in the near future with a static ip adress instead of a dynamic, which I have now... I was thinking of purchasing Abyss X2.
So the questions are these, as follows.
1) I want a domain name, they're cheap... how do I bind a purchased domain to my server? Is there any how-to's for exceptional beginners on the field?
2) (directed to aprelium tech) Are there any kinds of package deals, or must one purchase X2 licenses one per one? I have a Mac server, Linux server and an NT server which all serve a special purpose, I would like a webserver for each, why? Don't ask. |

Dont expect much of a response with an attitude like that!
To bind you domain to abyss you simply make an 'A' name in the DNS records called 'www' and set the data as your static ip. If you dont have a static IP you make a 'CNAME' and set it to your no-ip or dyndns address.
You will have to e-mail aprelium or await their response here for the answer to the question on lisences. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

Attitude? Was it offensive? If so I'm terribly sorry.
I was browsing around after my post, and most replies to other posts didn't make me wiser as most answers were either irrelevant or couldn't help the person in question.
Thanks for that other piece of information however, it will help me in my quest. |

How it works is, you say that, and then you DONT answer; to prove a point.
And yeah, I think you'll have to buy a license for each. _________________
