OK. Yesterday I upgraded to PHP 5.05. Now PHPBB isn't working. I can browse and everything, but posting.php (The file that submits your posts to wherever they need to go) isn't working.

My question.

A) Are there any fixes for that problem. I know PHPBB is not suposed to be compatible with PHP 5.*, but I, for some reason, can't downgrade. Plus, many of my other scripts need PHP 5.*......

B) Are there any PHPBB Alternattives I should switch to? Problem is, I already have got my PHPBB exactly how I want it, and have about 10 members and 30 posts... This is a lesser preferred alternative, and I'll do anything I can to prevent it.

The reason I'm putting this in OT is because it belongs in a blend of categories... Anyways, post away!! :D |

				p3,

We recommend opening your php.ini file and reading all the comments there. You'll find a lot of switches and parameters that can enable compatibility with PHP4. _________________ Support Team

By compatibility, do you mean equivalancy? I have PHP5, but PHPBB is only compatible with php4 |

PhpBB 2 is not officially supported on PHP 5. But you can find in http://www.phpbb.com/support/documents.php?mode=changelog some references to PHP 5 stating that PhpBB can run on the latest version of PHP.

There is also an add-on to enable this compatibility officially: http://phpbb-php5mod.sourceforge.net/ . _________________ Support Team

I'm running php 5 and phpBB 2 works fine without any modifications to phpBB or PHP. So it is possible... _________________ Olly |
