				I have Abyss, PHP and Perl now running on my Windows 98 Machine. The next step is Mysql. I installed 4.1.13a (Windows Essentials) with the windows installer and used the configuration Wizard.

I tried to install now Mambo CMS but the Mambo install tells me I have no Mysql support.

Do I have to tell Abyss that Mysql is installed on the machine? Hope someone can give me som suggestions, how to do this!

				You must make sure you start MySQL and that you get the green light in the task bar. To do this, go to c:\mysql\bin\ and look for the icon that looks like a set of traffic lights. Start it and try the installation of your script again.

If all else fails, go to www.trustabyss.com and follow the tutorial there. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

				I looked in the bin directory but I only see 20 exe files and 1 dll file. An icon what looks like a traffic light is not showing.

				| Sometimes Mambo return no MySQL version whenever you install it, due to various reasons. If you can access phpmyadmin, then just proceed with the installation. |

				At this moment I don't know what I am doing wrong! Installed Mysql installer version and used the wizard for the configuration. I can not get Mysql running on my W98 machine.

I have to do some more investigating and studying of read me files and manuals.

I have Abyss, perl and php running perfect!

				| I had the same problem, but got it solved by installing PHP5. If you're running PHP 4.x, try updating it. |

installing mysql as a services is not available for win 98

try this

go to

start->run

type "command" (without the quotes)

now type "c:\mysql\bin\mysqld" (without the quotes) and hit enter

mysql should now of started _________________ Anthony R

				On Win95/98/ME, you can add the mysql.exe process to the Start > Programs > Startup folder to autorun it on Windows boot time. _________________ Support Team
