listening error

hi
When i installed Abyss webserver with port 8000 it has the status RUNNING
but when changing the PORT to 80

Hosts : Host Status
Default Host On Port 80 Listening Error

this error is giving
so what is this error and what did I do wrong???
just installed and changed the PORT number nothing else

Please advise what to do

You must have another program running on this port. If you have another web server then shut it down. This should solve the problem. If not then run a port scan on your computer to see which program is using it.

This usually happens when Abyss Web Server is installed as a service. Go to
your task manager by hitting the ALT+CTRL+DEL once, after you do this, go
ahead and end task on all abyssws.exe processes and it will work.

Note: When installing Abyss Web Server as a service, it will always run in
the background when you boot up your computer so make sure you check
to see if your website is online, thats basicly all I have to say.

hi,

It is running now
the solution was there was also IIS running I have disabled IIS manager and than restarted the computer

now to view the website it give error 403 forbidden

I think to create a new post for this error

Error 403 means occurs usually when the directory listing is disabled and when there is no index.html or index.htm file in the main directory.
