I before had the previous Abyss webserver set up all working on port 80 with my router port forwarding and all working crystal clean, I now and then switched to orion webserver for certain other reasons, I could visit my own website by going to http://192.168.1.4 (my pc ip) and I got a domain set up pointing to my home ip which is http://81.151.177.130 and the domain is www.dogmad.co.uk

My router IP is http://192.168.1.1. As soon as I installed the new Abyss webserver things went wrong. I retained the normal settings I had few problems at first I got over but now it appears to be working fine but when myself or people external try to view my website we are gettings either page cannot be displayed or something like you are not authorized to view this page. It was hosting at the same place as before on my external hdd I have also tried my desktop and the default folder for Abyss all the same. Its on port 80 as the default nothing else is using that port what do i do?

Please help me :-(

max_carpenter,

The problem doesn't come from Abyss but from a firewall or your router configuration. Do you have a firewall software installed on your computer?

Thanks for your help but it was the Abyss server I also contacted the technical support at the same time and they got back to me inspected my conf file and found out that in the scripting section there was just a blank '/' path told me to remove it and my website started to work fine. I have changed no other settings on my computer or server so cannot of been anything else. But thanks for you help anyway If anyone else has this problem please contact me and I will explain what I was told to see if it helps.
