|

I get an error when rebooting my computer stating
"Cannot listen to the console port" and askes me to switch
console port number... which I then do, and everything is fine,
no matter what port number I use, it still ends up saying the same
thing after I reboot. I wondered if something else was competing for
these port numbers, and there is virtually nothing on my computer
to do this... as i can see anyhow...
Anyone run into this before???
Thanks in advance for any help.

|

Hi! Thanks for the tip, everything is fine now... I thought I would post my results in case someone else runs into this problem.
I downloaded the program you suggested and ran it... it only found two programs (relevant to this problem) they were both abyss, one for the console one for the server itself... i scratched my head and didn't see anything wrong... so I then went to my abyss control panel and chose
{console} {Settings} and reconfigured the console port, so it was now running
on a new port, I went back to the port checking program and refreshed and
now saw a third Abyss port listening.... I then remembered reading another
post here on the forums about a problem with running the server as a service and that it may creat two instances of abyss running. So I went back into my control panel and unchecked "Run as a service" and restarted my computer... everything cleared up and is running fine now.. thanks for the help! |
