It's very slow and doesn't load, you didn't seem to set it right. |

Figures. I'm doing everything the router said to do. Is there a way I can check it myself? I hate bothering everyone. I just changed another setting and it shows up ok here (on my comp) but I know the outside no one can see it.
This was fine till I moved and bought a new router :) |

HMDeath, your link takes me to my website.
Actually, your domain name goes to an internal IP address of 192.168.1.100.
(this is the IP that your router gives to a PC in your local network)
You need to change it to your EXTERNAL IP address, which you can get by going here...

Your website is a local network IP Address asigned to probably your server
computer , you need to use your real IP located here www.aprelium.com/ip/ |

Ok I just thought up an idea. I went to https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 and did a scan of my common ports and 80 is listed as stealth. Can someone else try it and see if they get the same reading. This might be my problem. If it is I have to find out why its stealth. _________________ -Allan |

Sorry, buddy.
But, I'm getting an "operation timed out when attempting to connect" message.
Are you sure your ISP isn't blocking port 80? |

No, it didn't show up.
I would have to guess that you didn't set up your router properly. |

Nope. I'm still getting a "timed out" message.
Can you tell us how you set your router up?
Also, do you have a firewall? |

Ok this is my router.
Linksys WRT54G (wireless)
I have the DHCP disabled.
I have the Applications & gaming port set to:
Abyss.....80....80...IP address: 192.168.1.***
And the DMZ is disabled.
As for the firewall I don't have one running to my knowledge BUT I went to grc.com and ran the shields up! program and checked the common ports and 80 is stealth as is the rest of the ports.
Any ideas???????? _________________ -Allan |

If you're running WIN XP, the built-in firewall may be activated. Double check to see.
It sounds like you set your router correctly, but just in case, go ahead and look at this to make sure...
http://www.portforward.com/linksys/wrt54g-portforwarding.htm
If that's not the case, set the server to another port to see if your ISP is blocking you. (ex. 8000 or 8080) |

I removed xp sp2 lastnight so I wouldn't have a problem with the firewall. Is there still one even without sp2? Also I changed the port to 8000.

Sweet! then all that needs done is to get the pics to work. Think a different port like 81 will allow them to work? _________________ -Allan |
