Hello all, I just found about Abyss yesterday. So far, I really like it. However, my website cannot be viewed over the internet. I know this has been brought up many times before, I have been searching this forum for a couple hours yesterday and found several related topics on this. But [broad generalization] they all talk about using routers, firewalls, etc. [/broad generalization]. I was hoping someone could help me clarify what I have been...and still am doing wrong. People trying to access my site get a "This page cannot be displayed" error. I'm using shorturl.com to redirect my page from my IP- http://67.80.215.87 to http://www.parasiteeve.vze.com/ My port # is set to 80, but I have tried changing it to no avail. I use a cable modem to connect to the internet without a router. Thank you for taking the time to read my question. I feel like such a n00b. |

Ask people to issue this command at their dos prompt:
This will let you know if your computer is reachable from theirs regardless of the port number you use.
(When we tried the command above, the request timed out which means that your computer was off or that it is not reachable). _________________ Support Team

Have you tried using other port numbers (for example 8000 or 8080 ?) _________________ Support Team

Then please check IP access rules in your computer. It seems to be that your machine denies incoming TCP connections.
Try for example using an FTP server and see if people can access it. Abyss Web Server has no influence on IP access rules as defined in your system. It will listen on all incoming connections on the port you choose. But of something prevents other computers from connecting, Abyss Web Server cannot know it. _________________ Support Team
