				| is there any reason for using "~" in directory/folder names, for example, your images folder, ~images? only cus ive seen quite a few ppl do it. Just wondering,

 Historically, on UNIX systems, web servers used to understand a path like /~richard/dir1/dir2/file.html as "get /dir1/dir2/file.html from the personal web site of user richard."
