Sometimes I get through the hard parts and get stuck like an idiot on the easy ones. This user's guide is SO BASIC and great, but I don't find the silly address to test the server, and what does (point the browser to the web server URL, which is)"printed on the server's window" mean? English is not my mother tongue.
I mean
http://my-ip:the-port-I-set doesn't work and http://localhost/nameofmysite.html doesn't work either. |

When you click on the Abyss icon in the system tray, it will bring up the 'server window' - you will see the address to use for your server there.
If you are testing on the same machine you are running the server on, enter http://127.0.0.1 in the browser. |

An error was detected in the form. Please fix it and retry.
Server Root:
Documents Path:
Port: The port is already assigned to the console
shouldn't it be?? I put a new port here?
I feel like an idiot, should I trust my feeling? |

oh, now it suddenly works - almost! I get a directory, it doesn't want to read my little index.html file. I wonder how come. This forum is great, I don't feel so lonely out here. |

Just add an index record in the console , if your using the old server which
is not in beta stage , Abyss/1.2.3 , add your index in Server Parameters.
Glad I can help !!! |
