Hi I am a new user. love the freeware.Got my network and router all figured out, WOOT. I made a single test page on MS Frontpage(turned off their proprietary extensions) and connected over the net, but 2 of 3 pics did't load up.(just got the box with "x" in upper left hand) they were both jpg's but the "Abyss Badge" loaded up fine.
Before I do any more designing I'm hoping one of u vets can point me towards my problem.
PS, I have p4 puter w/ xp home, using ie browser.

Frontpage is your problem ;)
Seriously, it's probably created absolute links e.g. C:\MyWebsite\Images\Image1.jpg instead of relative ones e.g /images/image1.jpg for your images on the page. Use View Source in IE to check... |

can I make frontpage work more compatably?
I also have some thing using port 80 and cant usa it for abyss. Anyway to tell which program or service it is?

Frontpage was the prob. thanx.
Not sure why but works and word saved to htm or html work fine.
Though I still have some service or program on Xp home using port 80?
Any command line tools that will show me who the culprit is?

If you're just beginning on the road to web design, I wouldn't recommend starting out with Frontpage - although it's easy to make a page with it, it makes nasty bloated HTML and you'll pick up a lot of bad habits. There are plenty of free editors out there which are ideal for beginners but are still useful when you progress beyond the basics.
Struggling to think what I used for WYSIWG when I ditched frontpage, but if you're feeling adventurous :

http://www.htmlbeauty.com/ - Max's HTML Beauty - my personal favourite.
Neither of the above are WYSIWYG as such, but you should get the hang of them quickly - they will preview your work in real time while you work directly on the code.
Regarding your port problem, ActivePorts will sort you out. Possible culprits include SkyPe, IIS or any ad blocking software you may have installed - this will tell you for sure though :)
