does any one know if it is possible to program your own DNS?
or if you can download one from anywhere?

i think i am kinda confused between DNS's and domains. but if al thosee companies made a domain, it should be possible for me to make one.

Technically this is possible but there are many legal issues that you must check before starting your own domain name company or service.

Can you be specific regarding DNS and Domain? What do you want regarding this two aspect?

If you want as public DNS, you can do it with Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2003 server. Simply have it sit infront from your LAN like in DMZ. If you want a TLD or domain name [public FQDN] of your DNS, simply register one from a Domain Registrar. You can have multiDNS all you want. Like NS1 / NS2 ... NS1000.yourdomain.com. Note, watch out for security problem that may arrise.

If want to become a registrar for people to buy domain name, your will need to apply ... can not remember where ..... I will update if I can get that information. Since I do not have or done this part yet, I do not know the specific information on "howto" from some place.

Does this relate or indirectly relate to Abyss? Except of course the domain name for your IP and for Abyss site.
