is there a way to leave your fiewall up, but stil host a web site?
i got hacked last night because it was down! :(

yes, set it to allow abyss on to the internet
if you use the xp firewall you must set access to the http server port (80) _________________ Olly |

what if yiu are on a firewall that does not allow that?
or a router for that matter?
all i have for options on the control panel is
virtual server,
DMZ,
special applications ports,
and LAN client restrictions.

You must forward your web server port under "Virtual Server" and
then your router will allow incoming traffic to your web server. |

thanks, i thought it had to say something like ip forwarding.

If you only open port 80, then crackers only have access to port 80 on your computer; which, if running Abyss, is very secure. Still run a software firewall to be safe though. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

Have firewall or ICF open port 80.
As for router, only port forward / virtual server 80 to your Abyss box. You should be ok from there. _________________ CapFusion,... |
