resolve = to solve something again
redirect = its hard to explain try to figure it out by yourself! _________________

In the context of DynDNS services etc...
Resolve - the name you have will resolve directly to your IP. The subdomain you choose will have the IP set to the IP you submit either via webform, or update client.
For example, when someone type anonymoose.no-ip.com in their browser, it would make a DNS request, reach the no-ip.com nameservers and be given your IP then make a http request directly to your machine.
Redirect - the name you have will resolve to your providers servers IP. The subdomain name you choose has it's IP set to the IP of the web servers of the DynDNS provider.
When you type anonymoose.no-ip.com into your browser, it would make a request to the No-IP.com webservers, which would provide a HTML page including a link to redirect visitors to your site. |
