I had been using the Abysse web server, under PORT 80 for about 2 weeks now. All of a sudden this morning, it cannot come up and says Port 80 is used by another application or the access to it is denied. WHY??

I have not downloaded or loaded anything since yesterday afternoon and the web server was working perfectly fine before.

Please help.

Maybe I need to change to a different port setting? But how?

To bring up my web server is use http://localhost:1024.

Thanks so much. Can anyone get back to me a s a p. ?
Karen

This is the error it is showing:
An error was detected in the form. Please fix it and retry.

Server Root: C:\Program Files\Abyss Web Server\
Documents Path: htdocs
Port: 80
The port is already used by another application or the access to it is denied

Kill all instances of Abyss (exit them in the system tray, and check in the task manager). Then restart Abyss. If that doesn't work, then search the forums, as this has been talked about before.

Ok, I already tried to restart Abysse but nothing happens.

Can you please send me a link to the other topics where this is covered.

Many Thanks.

Thank you so much , I think now It works! I've downloaded the active ports - which helped greatly and now I was able to change the port to 8080 for now.

No problem.

Out of curiosity, if you don't mind me asking, what was running?
